Hello colleagues, partners, members and friends – just an update from the UHPCP team during this difficult time for many.
The UHPCP team is considering potential coordinating roles that can assist vulnerable communities in collaborative recovery efforts following the bushfire crisis in our own and our neighbouring catchments.
We will be liaising with all our networks over the next few weeks to identify the role/s of the PCP.
Please feel free to talk to us about how we might assist you in coordinating efforts, advocating for the needs of vulnerable groups, or in anything else relating to the aftermath and recovery from these fires.
We understand that it may take some time to navigate the needs and identify where we can be most appropriately useful, and/or enhance much of the existing work with which we are already involved.
Please keep an eye on good-quality information sources. The following sources are valuable and reliable sources of information:
- For information about heat health, see detailed information at https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/heat
- For information about fire risk, access:
– the Vic Emergency app
– the Vic Emergency website: https://www.emergency.vic.gov.au
– ABC radio or
– the VicEmergency Hotline: 1800 226 226.
Most importantly, take care of yourselves and each other.
(Acting Executive Officer)
